Beautyfix by Dermstore (formally Blush Beauty Mystery Box)

Cost: $24.95 per month (monthly subscription, cancel anytime)

What is Beautyfix?

Subscribers will receive up to $100 worth of products and with Dermstore behind them they have wider brand selections!!!

Beautyfix was repackaged in March and I have been watching like a hawk to see if it is worth the time and money… Well guess what? I just signed up for May’s Box and it’s already here!

Let’s take a look at the new design and products included this month!

A more detailed description card is included allowing a brief synapses of the products included and a 15% of coupon code! Dr. Brandt Needles No More (.085 oz) $15 & CITRIX Deluxe Vitamin C Pro-Collagen Brightening Serum (0.06 oz) $5.70

I have been dying to try this wrinkle remedy out since it came on the market…. I don’t have deep lines but they are slowly taking shape. I ripped the package open and the fragrance is minty, which was surprising but tolerable. The only lines that seem to irritate me is the frown lines that are slowly appearing by my mouth, so I used a dab and found a slight reduction of the wrinkles in that area! Sold!!!!! I see where my money will end up going! However, it appears that the results vary after reading a couple reviews on Sephora… I think it really depends on the condition or depth of the wrinkle and the location; however, for me it is a life saver…. so glad I could sample it first to make sure it was a good product for my needs before I bought the Full Size.

The Vitamin C sample reminds me of Truth Serum® Vitamin C Collagen Booster by Ole Henriksen that I use from time to time; however, the sample is so tiny I doubt I will be able to judge if it is working.

Women’s Peter Thomas Roth Anti-Aging Defense Sunscreen Stick Broad Spectrum SPF 50 (Full Size) $26 &  Blowout Beauty Anti-Frizz Volume Boost Treatment Oil (Full Size) $45

I am constantly in my garden (reason why I rarely post on my weekends) and although my complexion is rather dark, I have a sun allergy and burn and found as I get older I have developed a sunscreen allergy, with the exception of sunscreen applied to the face. This convenient and portable stick is fantastic to toss in my purse and I don’t have to worry about it spilling allover the place. I love the addition of  vitamins A, C and E to help out the aging process!

The blowout oil is from a brand I am unfamiliar with but is Paraben and Sulfate Free! The scent is subtle and the formula reminds me of my Alterna Bamboo spray!

NeoStrata Skin Active Perfecting Peel (2 pads) $6.30 & Harry Josh Carbon Tail Comb  $12

I do love a good peel and currently am still using my Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel and will probably try this one once I’m done with my current peel.

The tail comb is an awesome and welcomed addition to this box! Who in their right mind would pay $12 for a fishtail comb? However, I have developed a taste for Harry and Josh products since they really are quite durable!

SmartFX Smart Brow in Brunette and Blonde (Full Size) $60 Total

Ok… now this is impressive and resourceful! Not only did they give us Full Sized products throughout the box, but they also gave us quite the selection of products and now they gave us two different shades! Beautyfix gave subscribers one blonde and one brunette shade so this way they weren’t disappointed if receiving the wrong shade… the other one they suggest giving to a friend. I usually use a Dark Brown Eyebrow liner and filler (Tarte is my preferred brand), but the brunette softened my eyes and provided all day coverage. The wand is double ended, which gives you a filler option (mascara wand) and a liner option in one! The set even comes with a cleanser!

These are bonus samples, so they are not part of the initial box contents! I love the innovative sample design… When you open the sample, inside is a separate squeezable container the size of a quarter that you can just flip open to use or remove it from the packaging for easier application. Yes, I get excited about packaging (smh).

The total of the Beautyfix box for May was around $126, but if you subtract the $30 for the blonde brow shade I won’t use, it will be around $96! I paid roughly $25 under their monthly subscription rate and so far I think I’m going to stick with them!
