Let’s take a peek at the June 2015 box!

REMINDER:

Sample Society will slowly transition to “Allure Beauty Box” after subscribers receive their June box, which will now be managed exclusively by Allure and not jointly by BeautyBar.com.  When you receive your Sample Society Box you will find an Allure mini-mag, which not only is filled with each items description but their uses! I believe this to be one of the most useful tool included in any subscription service. Why? Sometimes samples do not have packaging or the packaging lacks the instructions, which diminishes the allure of the product since you do not know how to use it unless you search the web for answers! The Allure beauty mag is one of the best offered, since it includes readers & curator opinions and each product is tested by the curators.  St. Tropez Self Tan Express Advanced Bronzing Mousse (1.69 oz) $11 & eSalon Perfect Ending Leave In Conditioner (1 oz) $3

Ok… I take back everything I have ever said about self-tanners. Well, long story short I have tan skin already but found that a natural all over glow is hard to get if you can’t really go under the sun without burning. So I ventured into my ever-evolving stash of tanners and love even some of the OTC brands! I’m excited to try the St Tropez brand for the first time, it does have some pretty convincing reviews and I love that you can determine the shade by simply just applying and removing based on your desired level of tan!

eSalon is a brand I am not familiar with but found comparable to other hair coloring subscription services (like Madison Reed). The color-treated leave in conditioner remedy should be useful this summer since between the sun, chlorine, and color alterations my hair needs all the help it can get!

e.l.f. Studio Small Stipple Brush $3 & Lauren B Beauty Nail Polish in Polo Lounge Punch (FULL SIZE) $18

The Stippling Brush is pretty durable and for new makeup users is the one you use to give that light, airy, airbrush effect when using creams and liquids.

The Polish was a pleasant surprise since the punchy color screams summer and it’s a Full Size!

Cotz Face Sunscreen SPF 40 in Natural Skin Tone (0.18 oz) $2.40 & Completely Bare Wax Strips Sampler (4 strips) $1

Cotz is a fantastic brand! I alternate between this brand and supergoop often since my skin is a bit sensitive to sunscreen and I have always had a good experience with this one!

The best thing to find in a subscription box, is finding that the subscription service included a sample of something you wanted to try (try b4 you buy). I saw these when I was out and almost bought the expensive bundle pack (impulse buy). Needless to say… I resisted the urge and I am glad I get to try it first now!

If you love to try new products, some you have been dying to get your hands on to see if it is worth buying into the full-size than this box has a pretty good assortment. For me, the experience of being able to try before I buy is one of the best perks, not to mention the occasional surprise find! I can’t wait to see how the curation will change when it’s just Allure making curation choices!

  1. Why the finish of the Cotz really matte? I got the flawless complexion SPF 50 in Birchbox & it left a horrible sheen!
