What is Loot Crate?
Is a theme packed box of 6 to 8 handpicked items every month. Items such as Zombie themed T-Shirts, Simpson’s merchandise, Ninja Turtles, and even good old Ren and Stimpy have graced the stage of Loot Crate.
This Month’s theme is Speed:
Looking for a high-octane, adrenaline-pumping theme? Look no further than SPEED, featuring some of pop culture’s quickest characters and vehicles!
After hearing about Loot Crate for the past couple of years on various Podcasts, such as The Nerdist Podcast, Steve Austin Show and Talk is Jericho, and a few other life changes in 2015, The Subscriptionist presented me with an opportunity to give Loot Crate a try; and I took it. So without further ado, here is my review for the Anti-Hero Loot Crate.
Let’s take a journey to discover the contents of the September 2016 SPEED Themed Crate!
The first thing that you see when you open this crate is part of the design of the reversible crate along with the Stark T-shirt, Battlestar Galactica Cylon and Batwing Keychain.
Loot Crate Exclusive Stark Industries Racing T-shirt (Fifth Sun)
The T-shirt’s design is inspired by the racing scene in Iron Man 2. The fit is great! Not too tight, but I’m not swimming in it either and the fabric feels fantastic! This is a guaranteed winner for any Iron Man fan!!
Loot Crate Exclusive Arrow Hood Ornament-Style Figure (By George!)
Are you a fan of the TV series Arrow? Then this is for you. Now some looters got a very similar piece featuring the Flash from the TV series of the same name and set in the same universe as Arrow. Which one did you get?
Loot Crate Exclusive Battlestar Galactica “Scar” Vinyl Replica (Titan Merchandise)
Battlestar Galactica fans will instantly recognize this baddie. This fig is beautifully detailed to match its on screen counterpart. Definitely a great collectible!
Loot Crate Exclusive Batwing Keychain (QMx)
Anyone can easily tell that this is from Batman. Others will know that it’s the Batwing. But fewer and fewer these days would instantly recognize that this keychain is fashioned after the classic 1989 Batman film. The design is a flawlessly detailed replica guaranteed to be a winner for any fan.
Gone in 60 Seconds “Eleanor” Die Cast Car (Greenlight Collectibles)
Any fan of car films has surely seen Gone in 60 Seconds. And those who have will recognize Eleanor. This beautiful 1:64 scale replica is a keeper for anyone who appreciates the film or classic muscle cars!
Loot Crate Exclusive Speed Pin (Loot Crate Labs)
Loot Crate has given their traditional theme pin an even bigger purpose! You’ll just have to be a Looter to see how! What better representation of SPEED than a tire burning rubber!
Loot Crate Magazine: September 2016 Speed
As with all Crates, you get LC Magazine filled with great articles, activities and info about most of the items in that month’s crate.
Last but not Least…
The Crate! Returning Looters know what the crate itself does, but for the newcomers, The Crate isn’t just bestowed a fancy interior design. You can actually turn the Crate inside out to end up with a whole new design! This one also has an added special! No sneak peeks though.
The value of this month’s Loot Crate was most likely over $100 taking into account that almost all of these items were made exclusively for this crate. This was a successful theme in my eyes. The Speed theme was a great idea and is a popular pop culture theme that is always being re-visited! It’s also a great tie-in to many season premiers involving a few of the franchises included. I actually enjoyed many of the items for myself. I’ll most likely be hanging on to most of the items in this Crate!
