Ipsy May 2015 Full Glam Bag Review!

Ipsy

Cost: $10 per month

What is Ipsy?

Each month, subscribers will receive a beautiful Glam Bag with deluxe samples and full-sized beauty products. Members can watch and play along with the stylists with the same products that they are using. All for only $10 a month.

Why is Ipsy so darn popular, besides the super cheap cost… well they use a little thing called ipsyMatch technology :

We customize all Glam Bag products using a personalization tool called ipsyMatch! This sophisticated system pulls the results from your personal profile, your Beauty Quiz, and your activity on ipsy.com. We use this data to consistently create a Glam Bag filled with the best beauty picks just for you month after month! Make sure you have marked the Skin Tone, Hair Color, and Eye Color that best suits you! These are always very important inputs for personalization.

If you missed my April review click here to take a peek. On with the review — Please keep in mind that items will vary on availability and individual beauty profile.

Jesse’s Girl Pure Pigment Eye Dust (Full Size – 1.8 g in Shade Brown Sugar) $4.99 & Chella Eyebrow Color Pencil (Full Size in Tantalizing Taupe) $18

I am not a fan of loose powder shadows, but gave this one a try wet. The color payoff was there but was a gold neutral brown on my tan complexion. Not something I will buy, but something I don’t mind using from time to time.

The Chella brow pencil would have really upset me since I just bought it in combination with the highlighter during an ipsyme event two months ago, but luckily for them the $18 pencil will be used as a back-up and because of the hassle of getting a repeat product!

(Continued) Jesse’s Girl Pure Pigment Eye Dust Swatch

As you can see the base of the shade is very gold/metallic. Without water it layers nice but I would recommend a very good primer (I use Too Faced in Candlelight). While the effect when wet makes for a instant golden tan!

Balanced Guru Style Me Hair Oil (0.5 fl oz.) $9.50  & NUXE Rêve de Miel® Facial Cleansing and Make-Up Removing Gel (0.50 fl oz.) $1.42

If you have frizz then look no further! This miracle in a bottle worked for my coarse curly/iron straightened hair! The organic treatment is made up of Argan Oil, Pumpkin Oil, Sesame Oil and Tamanu Oil. I found that this oil works exceptionally well when used in addition to other oils, such as the one I am using – Macadamia Oil.

The soap-free make-up remover is made with Honey and Sunflower and does smell wonderful but i have way too much cleanser as it is and the sample is only for 1-2 uses.

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Lip Pencil + BONUS Revolution High-Color Lipgloss (Gloss Samples in Failbait & BitterSweet and 24/7 Glide on Lip Pencil-  0.8 g ) $4.57?

I have officially saved the best for last!!!! I wasn’t a fan of the gloss, due to the fact that gloss just doesn’t have longevity regardless of the type. But the primer stick is AMAZING! The formula is gentle enough for lips, but also removes wrinkles and lines (temporarily) on other areas of your face! I think I’m going to go on a buying spree and stock up on these babies, because it lasted all day and I experienced no make-up creasing in those fine line areas! A Closer look!

Those new to Ipsy will discover every month ipster’s receive a new make-up bag designed based on the month’s theme. I think this month’s bag is one of my favorites! I also found a similar bag on Sephora if anyone wanted another one!

Just like most subscription services, you can earn points to redeem Full Size/Deluxe items! I was able to add on these items, thanks to all my saved Ipsy Points. For those of you new to Ipsy points you receive them every time you review products, share your bag, refer a friend, and/or share items from your glam room on Facebook/Twitter. The products are periodically released and range from 250 to 1000 points each.

For anyone who is interested in immersing themselves in an endless cascade of make-up and beauty choices and get out of the boring patterns of their everyday life, than this is the subscription box for you! I often get asked about my favorite subscription boxes… and I must admit that Ipsy is one of the ones at the top of my list!

Did you get your Ipsy bag? What did you think?

  1. Hi, Does Ipsy offer accruing points like BB does? I’ve not done Ipsby because I’m more into skin care than makeup, but if Ipsy has a point accrual program I may check them out. Thanks.
